Dear Trinity Family,
Summer is here! School is out, but church life continues. This is an exciting summer full of opportunities for all of us. I invite you to make an effort to join us for worship or other activities this summer.
Our summer worship theme is: Faith, Films, and Favorites Hymns. Jesus taught his beloved disciples about what it means to believe - what it means to live a life of faith through parables. Parables are stories that the disciples and other followers of Jesus could relate to because they directly related to their daily living. This summer we will be utilizing modern day parables of Pixar films along with biblical texts to help us explore faith concepts. This series will have something for our youngest and our young at heart. We will also be singing songs that have influenced and shaped our faith. Last week and in the coming weeks you will have the opportunity to provide a list of your favorite hymns. These hymns will be tabulated and will be sung during worship this summer. It is my hope and expectation that our favorite hymns will fit into and support the various themes for the day. So if you have a favorite hymn or 2 or 3 please let me know.
Several of our youth will be going to Houston June 27 - July 2nd. Thank you for your support in helping them raise money for the trip. The youth will lead worship on June 10 and we will have a send off for them on June 24 in worship. Watch the Trinity’s Facebook page for trip updates. They will share their trip in worship after we return, Please keep our youth and adult leaders in your prayers.
Parents of children and youth Pre-K—entering 9th grade - MARK YOUR CALENDARS and save the date. Green Lake Lutheran Ministry Staff will be here the week of August 6-9th. They will lead the Madelia Community Vacation Bible School and Trinity Truman children are encouraged to attend. This event will be from 5:30pm - 8:00pm with supper provided. A NEW opportunity with Green Lake Staff is provided this year. Our youth entering into 6th -9th grade are invited to join the Green Lake Staff for a Leadership Training Camp from 12:30pm - 4pm with a light lunch served at 12:30. This camp will have a leadership focus but lots of fun and activity with the camp staff. Mark your calendar and register soon!
