CENTRAL THINGS

Making All Things New

I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. 20The wild animals will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, 21the people whom I formed for myself so that they might declare my praise.

 Isa 43:19-21

Two years ago I entered into ministry with and for you. Two years ago, we entered into a new relationship together. For some, it was a renewed relationship; for others, it was something totally new. And in 720+ days we have grown together and learned together and communed together. It has been my blessing, joy and my pleasure to celebrate with you, mourn with you and live with you.

Each day was a new thing, each week was a new experience and each year was a growing appreciation for each other.

You now look at a new thing to spring forth, as Isaiah writes. I pray you can perceive it. Sometime we can’t. It may take us time to see what God is doing in our lives and communities.

Sometimes we feel as if we are in wildernesses and deserts and are parched from living.

What we both need to remember is that God has promised to give us  water, living water, for the journey, the new journey. We have been formed by God for himself. We are a community joined together by the Holy Spirit, renewed, reformed and refreshed in Jesus. We are reformed and renewed and refreshed to give God praise. We must leave behind the old and comfortable and greet the new and different with the grace that is ours in Christ.

Blessings to you as you continue your journey of faith, now and forever. Amen.
